A short story I wrote years ago in gymnasium (senior high school). I still like it and plan to use the characters again, but are - of course - things I'm not happy with. While I meant well with having a gay protagonist, I think I made his boyfriend (would be a spouse today) too much of a Distressed Dude, which could be seen as him being a Damsel in Distress. (One defence, I suppose, is that I wanted to create a modern day fairy tale with two "Princes" rather than a Prince and a Princess.)

When I thought of new stories, I imagined Arnold to be a combination of the Clubland Heroes in for example John Buchan's "The Thirty-Nine Steps" and the Innocent Abroad type in Eric Ambler's and some of Graham Greene's and John le Carré's political thrillers. This, I thought, would be a nice contrast to Lämmelson being a professional secret agent in the mode of Ian Fleming's James Bond and Jan Guillou's Carl Hamilton - the surname Lämmelson paying homage to Hamilton as well being a horribly bad pun.

If you want to make a proper translation to English - or any other language - feel free to do so. However, THAT WILL BE THE ONLY MODIFICATION I WILL ALLOW OF THIS PARTICULAR STORY, but fan art and fan fic's are welcomed, as long as you credit me as the creator. I've made a quick Google translation to English, and have corrected errors I've found.

EDIT: Changed the name of the protagonist within the story to translate the bad pun and corrected a few errors which I haven't noted before. I took away the title from the text because I've previously planned a prequel so it wouldn't be his first mission.
